Privacy policy

Seated helps you book tables at restaurants in Qatar. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Seated app and to the Seated dashboard that restaurants use.
What we collect
- Your mobile number, which you verify with a one-time code to sign in.
- Your name and preferred language.
- Your bookings: restaurant, date, time, number of guests, seating preference, occasion and any note you add.
- Whether you confirmed, changed, cancelled or attended a booking.
- Notes and tags a restaurant adds to its own guest book about your visits (for example an allergy you mentioned).
- Basic technical information needed to run the service securely, such as sign-in times and error logs.
- For restaurant staff: name, email address, role and the actions taken in the dashboard.
Why we use it
- To make, change and cancel your bookings and pass them to the restaurant.
- To send you messages about your booking on WhatsApp or by SMS, including asking you to confirm you are still coming.
- To reduce no-shows: a restaurant can see how often a guest has visited, cancelled late or not turned up at that restaurant.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse, such as fake bookings.
- To show restaurants overall numbers about their bookings. These do not identify you.
Who can see it
- The restaurant you book with sees your name, mobile number, booking details and your history at that restaurant only. Restaurants cannot see your bookings at other restaurants.
- Service providers that run parts of Seated for us: database and hosting (Supabase), WhatsApp messages (Meta) and SMS sign-in codes. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, if Qatari law requires us to share it.
- We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored and for how long
- Your information is stored with our hosting provider, which may be outside Qatar. We use providers that protect data with encryption and access controls.
- We keep your account until you delete it. Booking records are kept by the restaurant that served you as part of its own records.
Your rights
- Under Qatar's Law No. 13 of 2016 on the protection of personal data, you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used.
- You can change your name and language in the app at any time.
- You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account. This cancels your upcoming bookings and deletes your account, name and mobile number from Seated. Restaurants keep their own record of past visits.
Children
- Seated accounts are for adults. Someone under 18 should ask a parent or guardian to book for them.
Changes and contact
- If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
